Alzheimer’s Association
“Barker and Scott had the experience and expertise we needed to reengineer our gift processing. The workflow steps they implement for us in 2007 are still in place today and provides us with great flexibility to meet the needs of our growing Association.”
— Mark Hopkins, Director of Donor Services
The Story:
The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The organization needed to improve how it processed its gifts.
The Solution: Business process enhancement of gift processing
Barker & Scott performed a detailed review and re-engineering of the National Headquarters’ entire revenue processing workflow. Barker & Scott utilized its best practice knowledgebase to deliver a set of improvements that addressed all the key components of Alzheimer’s Association’s revenue processing system – people (skills/training for existing staff in Donor Services, Revenue Support Services, Finance, the Contact Center, and other departments), process and data (mail, coding, data entry, system processing, and reporting procedures), and technology (enhancements to CRM and other applications).
Barker & Scott implemented the following:
A centralized point of control for document routing and management
Improved audit controls
Faster turnaround time for acknowledgments
The Impact
The Alzheimer’s Association saw a significant savings of staff time through the elimination of circular processes. Donors’ gifts were processed faster. Donors were timely and accurately thanked for their donations.
